Coming soon…New Adult Read-a-thon

NAReadathon1Before we get caught up in our Blog Birthday celebrations, Pruedence and Caroline wanted to remind you that they will be participating in the week long the New Adult Read-a-thon. Running from the 22nd until the 28th of July, it is a fantastic excuse to indulge their New Adult addiction for an entire week.
Caroline’s Read-a-thon Aims
My personal aims for the week are:
To participate in my first read-a-thon
To Make a (however small) dent in my New Adult TBR pile by reading least 3 books
To discover 3 new authors
Visit at least 3 other blogs participating in the read-a-thon
Participate in at least one of the other read-a-thon challenge and one twitter chat
Caroline’s TBR Shelf
As I’ve stated above my aim is to read at least three New Adult Titles during the week. However, rather than decide exactly what I’m going to read in advance, I have created a short list of titles from which I will pick and chose depending on my mood.
Click on the book title to learn more.
Breathe by Abbi Glines
For me this will be a kind of re-read. The original YA (clean) version of Breathe was the first Abbi Glines book I read. Despite being very different in content from the remainder of Abbi’s work, this uncomplicated and sweet page turner had me hooked. Abbi has been a must buy for me ever since.
I don’t know what I’m more excited about reading; the steamy scenes for which Abbi has become renowned or, Jax’s point of view of the romance.
Faking It by Cora Cormack
I absolutely loved Cora’s debut novel, Losing It. It was a light-hearted, palate cleansing read and just what I needed after indulging a few two many angst riddled new adult romances. I was lucky enough to pick up a signed copy of Faking It, the companion novel (along with two of the challenge prizes), at a recent event. During the event Cora read an except of Faking it. In addition to me laughing out loud, I found myself immediately liking and rooting for the main characters.
Uncharted by Tracey Garvis
Uncharted is the companion novella to Tracy Garvis’ On the Island. I adored the unconventional relationship between TJ and Anna. Not to mention the fantastically exotic setting and the page turning fight for survival.
I’m looking forward to popping back in to TJ and Anna’s lives and finally unravelling the mystery behind “Bones”.
Rock My World by Michelle Valentine
The first two books in the Black Falcon series were seriously steamy. Rock My World focuses on the relationship between, previously secondary characters, Aubrey and, bad-boy lead guitarist, Riff.
Killing Sarai by J. A. Redmerski
J. A. Redmerski cemented her place on my automatic preorder list with The Edge Of Never, one of my favourite New Adult reads. While Killing Sarai looks like a very different book, I am excited to see where J. A’s writing goes next.
One week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy
This is a recent addition to my TBR pile. I downloaded this after discovering the book via NA Alley’s Crush Tourney (Learn more about it here).
Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines
I wasn’t sure what to think about Wood’s when I first met him in Fallen Too Far. However, by the end of Never Too Far he had earned his place among my book crushes. I am excited for Wood’s to finally meet his love and I am intrigued to read the book Abbi has declared as very different from her previous works.
Preudence’s Personal aims for the read-a-thon and TBR Shelf
Like Caroline I aim to successfully participate in my first ever readathlon
and very similarly I am going to try and keep my book-feet on earth and not set unrealistic expectations of reading 10 NAs :p So I too will aim for at least 3
To read a book that I have recommended myself in one of my TPT features but not yet read
To read a book recommended by our fearless book-leader and very good friend Caz
And last but not least I aim to be extraordinarily cheeky and read one of the NA books off of Caz’s list so we can book gossip even more (not like we already don’t)!!!
Faking It by Cora Cormack
Losing It was something me and Caz stumbled across together. And both promptly fell in love with. So when the sequel came out and then this readathlon was due…. well it seemed like the perfect time to catch up!
In The Band by Jean Hausand Fitzwilliam Darcy:Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud.
These two have been recommendations of mine in my TPT feature, which is where Caz picked them up and decided to harp on and on about them so….. I figured it was high time I actually cracked on!
Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase and No Attachments by Tiffany King.
These two on the other hand I must give credit of discovery to Caz. They both sound great, sweet and fun. I can’t wait to start turning my digital pages!
HDU by India Lee
Well I just had to have a movie star related NA in my TBR list somewhere! And HDU sounded like just the perfect one!
Impossible by Komal Kant
A popular girl, a low profile boy and a social pickle of a situation…. Sounds like a great NA recipe to me!
Breathe by Abbi Glines
Breathe isn’t how I met Abbi Glines’s awesome writing style, but it is one of my all time favourites of hers. So when an NA version got published I just had to get my hands on it!
