And Still The Earth Turns
Muhammad Ali Bandial
How far would you go for the one you love?
Qasim has everything planned out: a bright future, the love of a girl who shares his dreams, and a loving family. But all that changes in a matter of seconds.
On a Thursday evening, two suicide bombers blow themselves up in the middle of a crowded religious shrine in Lahore’s famous Anarkali market. Qasim and Asma, two people from opposite ends of society, are wrenched apart in the cataclysmic upheaval caused by the explosion.
Spanning years and stretching from the busy streets of Lahore to the rugged and desolate mountains of Swat, each must chart a way through the wreckage and find their way back to each other. This is a story of finding one’s identity, of holding onto love, and knowing when to let go.

10 Interesting Facts about Qasim and Asma
If I’m being totally honest, the book’s main protagonist is an amalgam of two central characters, Asma and Qasim, they are the two pivots around whom the whole narrative turns and revolves. While the story is made up of many important characters, each of whom has their own arc and plays crucial roles as it progresses, it all comes down to the love story between Qasim and Asma. In a way, both characters and the story they tell, are incomplete without the other. Coming from completely opposite ends of society, they find common ground in shared beliefs and ideas.
So, in the spirit of fairness, I’ll break down my top interesting facts into five each for the two halves of the main protagonist.
