Love Books Will Travel

If you have spent any time on this blog you will notice that I LOVE attending book events.

I adore meeting authors, getting my books signed and meeting up with like minded bibliophiles.

With that in mind I am delighted to share the content of a very exciting email I received from the fabulous Jess at Waterstones, Guildford:

Yes, you read that right!

At least four awesome YA authors under one roof with cake!

But that is not all Ladies and Gentleman,

Oh No!

Jess continued to delight with the following announcements:

An Evening with Philippa Gregory

Thursday 16th August at 7pm
Hosted at Holy Trinity Church, High Street, Guildford, GU1 3RR
“Join us on the day that The Kingmaker’s Daughter is published as historian and internationally bestselling author Philippa Gregory discusses her books, the history that has inspired them and her prestigious career as a novelist.  Philippa will also be reading from her new book and signing copies of it afterwards.  We are thrilled that such a well-known and popular author is choosing to spend her publication evening with us and anticipate that this will be a popular and fascinating evening.
Tickets are £5  /  £3 for Waterstones loyalty cardholder”

An Evening with Ben Aaronovitch

Friday 22nd June at 7pm
At Waterstones Guildford, 71-73 High Street, Guildford, GU1 3DY
“We absolutely LOVE Ben Aaronovitch – you can quote me on that! He’s written for Doctor Who in the past and penned the famous Remembrance of the Daleks episode (which revealed that running up the stairs to escape them really wasn’t going to help you anymore…).  Rivers of London was his first Peter Hunt novel and sold exceptionally well here, followed by Moon Over Soho which has been devoured by his fans.  It’s been a l-o-n-g 14 months since that one came out so we’re chomping at the bit for Whispers Under Ground and ridiculously excited that he’ll be spending the evening chatting to us and signing copies of his books. I must admit that fantasy books aren’t normally my thing but I love his mixture of magical-fantasy and crime fiction – plus he’s a bitingly funny writer which is absolutely fine by me.
Tickets are £3 per person.”

What an exciting line up of summer events! I hope to see some of you there.
Happy Reading,
Caroline x
